Sledding on the Hill

Hi All, since it will probably be pretty snowy and icy for the next couple of days I thought I would start a little thread on the best sledding slopes on the hill.

My contribution: They have closed Denny from Bellevue down to the Freeway. Steep and Icy!

Anyone else got some spots?

  1. 4 or was it 5 years ago when they closed Denny and Bellevue off, we lived right on the corner and we enjoyed the impromptu block party that happened. Music was blasted from a nearby apartment, people sledded down the hill on a couch, mattress, surfboard, trash can lids, cardboard, plastic bags, anything that would slide. It was amazing.

  2. Are you serious? They closed Denny hill including the bridge? That’s KILLER! I’m totally going to hit that if I don’t have to work tomorrow.

  3. Union between 18th and 19th was closed last night. There was a big crowd using the abandoned bus’s posters as toboggans.

  4. I ran into some friendly neighbors with toboggans while I was walking home last night. The run started at the corner of Little Olive (Olive St., not Olive Way) and Boylston and went down a block or two. There were hardly any cars, but since the street wasn’t blocked off someone watched Bellevue while the rest of us went sledding.

Thank you again to the friendly neighbors who made my snow day!
