Draw-a-Thon at the University Branch Library

In case you haven’t heard, the Seattle Public Library is having an all ages comic series during the month of January. It kicked off at the Ballard Branch with a sighting of David Lasky and will finish up with a whole batch of cool programs at the Central Library on January 31st.

The University Branch Library is having a draw-a-thon on January 15th that is co sponsored by Zanadu Comics.  The doors will open at 5 and the contest will start at 6.  There will be 2 age divisions, under 18 and over 18, with several prizes to choose from.  Judging will be done by representatives of the library and Zanadu.  Justin Norman may be there–he has had a medical emergency and is not sure if he will be well enough to attend–but we have some leads on a replacement.  Justin Norman is an artist for Elephantment, and is also known as Moritat.  It will be unfortunate if he can’t make it, because he was wonderful at this event last year.  You can see photos of that program on Flickr.

Update! Matthew Southworth will be taking the place of Justin Norman at tonights event. Matthew is a local comic artist, recently published the first few installments of “Stumptown” and worked on “Infinity Inc” for DC Comics.

Please join us at the University Branch for our draw a thon contest.  It is sure to be a lot of fun.  5009 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle WA 98105 (206) 684-4063
