Thanks for the video. My only quibble is with your claim that it was “one of the best” coffee shops: just take out those first two words and you’ll have my full support.

It’s all for a good cause, but I sure do miss reading and writing at the window seats overlooking the park…

I think that we all have fond memories of this place. I bet most coffee drinkers on the hill each have a good story to tell of a memory from this place.

I urge all of us to band together, however. Sound Transit will eventually be selling this land and the land where the Chang’s was, as well as the block across from Dick’s.

I think that seeing as input takes soooooo long in this city (The Seattle Process) why don’t we as a community come up with a plan for what we want this land to be once the station is built.

Now, I know that its going to be sold to developers, who have a profit motive, so we can’t get too exuberant with what we want (free housing for artists, drop in centers, free health care centers) but isn’t this a golden opportunity for us to have solid guidelines on this property BEFORE the devlopers get going with another beige box?

I think it would be beneficial for a developer if we as a community had a plan, even some preliminary sketches (this community is full of talent, moreso than most of the so called architecture firms I’ve seen). Some developers do listen to the community input (Walgreen’s finally got it on the project at Broadway and Pine) so I don’t think its unheard of for them to get this project.

I’d like to see the local developer who did a lot of projects on 12th (I forget her name, but damn, she’s a dynamo) do the development or at least be able to guide the community as to what is feasible.

Just some ideas for us to brainstorm.
