Dunshee House Annual Christmas Tree Sale begins

2009 Dunshee House Christmas Tree Sale

Walking to 15th Avenue yesterday, we noticed that Dunshee House‘s 20th annual christmas tree sale has begun.  Dunshee House is a nonprofit that provides support to HIV positive individuals.  The Christmas Tree Sale is their biggest source of fundraising.  They are located at 303 17th Avenue East and hours for the sale are 9 am to 9 pm every day of the week.  Here’s a shot of Dunshee House’s more expensive trees in last year’s snow.

For those of you interested in having your tree replanted after you use it , One Earth One Design and Akina Designs are two Seattle-based companies that provide such a service

I have bought from this project for years – the best trees and for a very good cause.

Do it … go there, tell them Mike sent you.

And this year they have a delivery system with Zip car!!!! … check it out.

Are we the only people who just pick up one end each and WALK home with our tree?

Always seems to create confusion with the helpful volunteers.

We went last night and got our tree from the Dunshee house- our 2nd year buying from them. They are so helpful, nice, and just downright pleasant to be around and buy from.

Our tree is a 5′ douglas fir- got it for a great price, they cut the end off for us and tied it on the car- love it!!!

FYI — just got ours today at Dunshee. Folks were VERY helpful: trimmed bottom, tied it to top of our SUV, friendly, etc. Great experience.

They have 3 kinds: Douglas fir, nobles, grands. Prices were a little more than what you’d see elsewhere but it does go to a charity/cause so it’s understandable. If you’re on a budget probably not the best place. Our 7′ noble was $70 and it was a nice one — though it was actually more like 6′ with an almost foot long single branch pointing upwards that we cut anyway ;)

They also have tree stands($10-$30, small/med/large sizes). Lots of free parking.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
