Miller Fountain is up and running already

The Ron. K. Bills play fountain at Miller Community Center is a handicap-accessible water play feature. It should be working from 11 AM till 8 PM every day till September. I was surprised to see it running so early in the Spring. I was also happy to see that the dedicated Parks’ maintenance people have managed to keep it running for yet another year.

Want another movie? See last year’s announcement.

 Two thoughts:

1) If you’re at the fountain and note that the central water jet is very low (or not working) or if the ring of water jets aren’t shooting up as much as normal, please pop into the Center and tell the staff. It means that the filters are clogged up and need cleaning. Prompt maintenance will help keep it running for many more years.

2) This June will be the 10th anniversary of the opening of the fountain.  We didn’t get things together to have an anniversary party, but I am hoping to get the 30 minute video about the fountain and the neighborhood available online by June as a sort of virtual celebration. If you can’t wait (and know what VHS is), I can give you a videotape ([email protected]) or you can watch the slideshow of how we built it.
