
The Central Area is hosting a self-guided tour of a few of the many great gardens in our area May 22 from 11am to 4 pm. Tickets can be bought on line through gardentour.centraldistrictseattle.org. (then pick them up at Central Cinema). Or buy them until Fri. May 21 at Madison Market, Cortona, Central Cinema, or City People’s Garden Store. On Saturday, May 22, go to the Midtown Plaza (23rd and Union) to get the maps, info on slugs, CSAs, plant sales and to enter the raffle for swell prizes. Bring a donation for Northwest Harvest and the raffle ticket is free, or pay just a buck and take a chance, Tour prices are $5 advance purchase and $7 day of show at the plaza.
The gardens on show include wildlife habitats, a reclaimed alley, a cistern, a formal garden, Viva the horse and his pal Angelo the goat, a blue tiled wall, the house museum, garden and studio of James Washington and more.
