I. Howell Collective P-Patch Opening Celebration  (Thursday, 9/9)

Seven Hills Park and Howell Collective P-Patch Opening Celebration
Date: Thursday September 9 2010
Time:  6 – 8 p.m.
Location:  16th & East Howell Street (1514 E Howell St Seattle, WA 98122)
What:  Join in the community celebration for this new neighborhood park and P-Patch.  This Pro Parks project turned a parking lot into a beautiful open space and great place for the community to gather, enjoy barbecue, garden and sit in the sun. 

Come enjoy a neighborhood potluck, music, and more!

II. Register for a free class, Grow Great Garden Soil taught by Tilth  (Sunday, 9/12)

Join us Sunday, September 12 from 10am to 12noon for a FREE* class taught by Seattle Tilth.  This is the beginning of a 12 month class program to be held at the Howell Collective P-Patch, where we will host a FREE class each month.  For September 12th, Tilth will be teaching us how to Grow Great Garden Soil.

Class Description: Tasty and nutritious plants require healthy soil that is full of life and nutrients. This class will introduce techniques that enhance the life of your soil so that you get the most out of your garden. We will cover four seasons of soil building methods including cover crops and nitrogen fixing plants; no dig methods, soil testing, sheet mulching and using organic amendments.
