Considering the millions spent on each election, requiring a $0.44 postage stamp is dumb. It’s also dumb to wait so long to vote that you punt and hope everybody else voted for you. CHS has been there, sadly. It’s not a good feeling! So, vote today, Capitol Hill. The thing’s not due until Tuesday but for once we’ll all be ahead of the game. Useful links, our City Council candidate survey, CHS endorsement results and more, below.
- Need help making up your mind on the City Council races on the August ballot? CHS asked candidates a set of Capitol Hill-focused questions — here are the responses to the CHS August Primary City Council Candidate Survey. You’ll learn what the responding candidates think about the city’s design review process, our community’s marked dis-trust of the SPD and how they plan to help shepherd community priorities in the development of the Broadway light rail station property.
- We also have results from the CHS endorsement process. Poll results are below. Turn-out was a bit light this summer but the votes represent feedback from some of the most highly engaged people in the CHS community so check them out as a possible bellwether if nothing else.
- You don’t have to have a stamp. Here are the locations of the King County ballot drop boxes. Closest option to Capitol Hill is the King County Administration building at 500 4th Ave.

- And the tunnel thing? Vote APPROVED if you want to authorize the City Council to “give notice to proceed” on the proposed tunnel replacement of the Alaskan Way Viaduct. Vote REJECTED if you do not want the Council authorized to give this notice. We’ll let others expand and expound, below, in comments.
