CHS can’t cover the health and wellness industry on Capitol Hill with the rabid devotion we dedicate to food and drink. For one, the food and drink investments are on a much larger scale than the spa, salon, dentistry space on the Hill. For two, there are only so many hours in the day. Here’s a round-up of some new and coming soon providers of things health, beauty and wellness around Capitol Hill. Have a project we should know about? Add a comment or send us a note.
- Ritual Spa has opened in a former tanning lounge space on Harvard Ave:
Seattle’s newest upscale urban RITUAL day spa, located in the heart of vibrant Capitol Hill. Helping you look and feel your very best is our mission. Find your Beauty Ritual www.medispaseattle.com
Services include “rejuvenating facials, soothing body treatments, manicures, pedicures and more.”
A “Signature Facial” will run you $120.
- The Eden complex above the Broadway Castle store and neighboring the Highline is home to a dispensary, again, and is providing space for local wellness practitioners. Emily Haney and Jacob Hallberg have set up Eden Massage inside:
I met my great friend & massage partner Jacob while we were working at a massage chain on Capitol hill. We would talk about how we absolutely loved our clients & helping them improve. But we absolutely hated working for a franchise. I was lucky enough to move on & open my own practice in Madison valley, which has brought me enough success to open Eden Massage at Eden Wellness Center with Jacob by my side.
I specialize in chronic pain relief massage, specifically for people with musculoskeletal conditions & those who spend 6+ hours a day at a computer.
I partner with Greene Multisport to provide Intense therapeutic sports massage to competitive athletes. I am also a licensed large animal massage therapist (horses, elephants, dolphins etc)
Jacob and I are very excited about bringing our form of healing to the hill. Jacob will be @ Eden Sundays & Wednesday’s to start, and I will be there every other day.
We are offering 30, 60, & 90 minute appointments for $40, $80, & $120.Contact info 206-696-0983 [email protected]
Eden wellness center also offers nutrition therapy, & Greene Multisport owned by hill resident & personal trainer Ben Greene (formally of mode of fitness, author of ‘the vegan athlete’)
That’s very nice. Wait a minute… dolphins? Sign us up.
- The Joule building lost a sushi restaurant but the space is on track to become a Gentle Dental, according to City of Seattle records. The dental chain would join “minute clinic”-styled ZoomCare to form a mini medical stretch in north Broadway.
- Wise Patient Internal Medicine has opened on 19th Ave E in the Mercer Professional Building:
Our mission is to be the smartest and most compassionate primary care clinic in Seattle. We believe we can help our patients become physically, emotionally, and intellectually prepared to take control of their health.
Dr. Sam Warren leads the team providing primary care for men and women. You can learn more at imwisepatient.com.
I hate when places call themselves day spas when they just offer some spa services and aren’t really a place someone would spend several hours lounging like in actual day spa like Banya or Hothouse.
Couldn’t agree more. LIARS!
Dispensary operating under the veil of a “wellness center”–classic. So classic in fact, that this is what Apothecary did at one point (in the same space, before they were shut down). I wonder when Eden will get their letter…
I agree it seems sketchy but what’s not on the up and up about it? Am I missing something?
Hey Hoss, I have been to ritual day spa and it offers all the services a traditional day spa offers? minus a hot tub or pool, so, I am a bit confused. sorry they aren’t Banya which I love as well. I think your completely in the wrong to attack a business on the hill. frankly, RITUAL is an urban day spa and beauty salon that offers day spa beauty treatments. I think they also offer med spa services, but that is beside the point. You should read the definition before you start to blemish something someone worked so hard for and brought into our community. And Nea, your vulgar rhetoric gives life to your ways. You should all grow up and find someone else to pick on. You should be ashamed of yourselves. This is our community, you should get into the habit of celebrating the growth of others and their dreams, not throw a tantrum like a child that doesn’t get what it wants.
