On the List | Debacle Fest, Lez Stand Up, Ada’s 4th, Taste of Greece, ZAPP screen printing

The brotherly pairing of I-5 Shores and Eastlake will bring together Cairo, LoFi, Black Lodge, and Victory Lounge to host this year’s Debacle Fest Friday and Saturday nights.

1981747_10152389745486435_2517687400175983210_nThe Gay City Arts program activates their Calamus Auditorium this weekend to showcase  Lez Stand Up comedy. “Lez Stand Up is a Portland-based lesbian comedy troupe with a rotating cast of local comics. The troupe joins forces with some Seattle’s best queer comics, all of whom are doing their best not to eat bananas in public. 90 minutes of pure joy, featuring sketch comedy AND stand up.”
Performances are intended for 18+ and includes mature subject matter. Tickets are $12, and performances start at 8 pm, Friday through Sunday.

Travel season is here, and Joyful Noise: All Our Bags are Packed can start you off with a good travel-related earworm or two. The concerts on Saturday (8 pm) and Sunday (3 pm)  at Seattle First Baptist Church feature “incredible songs that have inspired us and reminded us of the thrill of exploration and, even better, the warmth of coming home again.

ZAPP, the ‘zine hub and archive formerly located in Richard Hugo House, hosts a screen print drop in on Friday, 4 – 8 pm at Black Coffee Co-Op. They’re bringing the supplies and screens, you bring fabric or paper to produce ZAPP or Black Coffee Co-op stickers and patches.

Sunday, stop in to Ada’s Technical Books on 15th between 4 pm and 8 pm to congratulate owners Danielle and Dave on the 4th anniversary of Ada’s and eat some free cake. We talked with Danielle about Ada’s opening way back when.  My how Ada’s grown!

Opa! Bite of Greece returns to Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption on 13th Avenue. this weekend.  If you have eaten your stash of frozen baklava, reload on the sweet walnut and honey desert , along with souvlaki, gyros, and more on Friday evening, Saturday or Sunday. The event also features music, dance and crafts.
