From April 28 through May 10, 2015 at 12th Avenue Arts Seattle’s premier contemporary circus arts company, Acrobatic Conundrum hosts the THREE HIGH Circus Series showcasing three outstanding circus shows performed by two professional circus companies and a large cast of high-caliber artists.
THREE HIGH is an opportunity for highly-skilled circus artists to perform artistically challenging work, and for audiences to share in the experience of remarkable, cutting-edge acrobatic performances. It comprises Acrobatic Conundrum’s homecoming performance of “The Language of Chance: An Evening of Extraordinary Circus,” recently returned from a successful nine-city tour, and featuring pieces by Seattle choreographer KT Niehoff, and Elizabeth Klob of UMO Ensemble fame; French comedic clown company, Cirque en Déroute‘s North American debut of “The Really Weird Cabaret!,” a showcase of the globetrotting trio’s world-class skill and comic talent; and “Volume 3,” the third installment of Acrobatic Conundrum’s curated cabaret featuring 16 established Pacific Northwest and international performers, flipping, climbing, and balancing at the very edge of their prowess and comfort zone.
“Our THREE HIGH series of shows are a meeting point for Northwest and international artists to connect, collaborate, and dare to create work together,” says THREE HIGH Circus Series director and Acrobatic Conundrum co-founder Terry Crane. “This region is a proven training ground of seriously creative circus talent in the U.S. Our goal is to direct more of that talent to work across disciplines, such as with live music, dance, theater and visual art. By challenging themselves artistically, as well as technically, these artists can create significant pieces of work that reveal circus arts to be one of the most exciting and relevant new forms of creative expression. “
