It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Or something. Happy holidays. This weekend brings a stocking full of happy events around Capitol Hill including what just might be the busiest Thursday of holiday fun… ever. We hope you find some time to enjoy the good cheer.
You’ll need to pace yourself Thursday — it’s full-tilt seasons greetings:
- December Capitol Hill Art Walk: The December edition of the rejuvenated, Capitol Hill Block Party-powered art walk includes a lot of fantastic creation — and more than a few gift acquisition opportunities. You can find a map and full roster of participating venues at capitolhillartwalk.com.
 - Holidays in Volunteer Park: 600 luminarias, live music, free cocoa and cookies, kids crafts, 6 to 8 PM in Capitol Hill’s landmark park.
 - Chophouse Row’s Guilty Holiday Pleasures: “Pop up holiday shopping, drag queen carolers, DJ Wesley Holmes, piping hot bevs & toasty snacks, chestnuts roasting,” 5 to 8 PM on 11th between Pike and Union.

Meanwhile, Thursday also brings the grand opening of the new Charlie’s on Broadway while you can celebrate the Capitol Hill Station Light Rail Murals with Ellen Forney Friday night or really get into the holiday spirit with a Handel’s Messiah sing-along at the Seattle First Baptist Church on Harvard with the Garfield High School Orchestra.
For those so inclined, Saturday brings the annual SantaCon shitshow fun to the streets of Seattle with a 2015 itinerary that, naturally, includes a handful of Capitol Hill destinations.
