We found twelve and a half year old Buddy walking Julia in Volunteer Park. Buddy was so named by Julia’s youngest son, Alex, who realized his older brother was too bookish and needed a buddy. Buddy is terrified of linoleum and refuses to go up or down stairs, and regardless of training as a puppy, still has to be carried up every night and down every morning.

We ask photographer Alex Garland to follow marchers in the rain and do crazy things like trying to make yet another picture of yet another huge apartment building look interesting.
