It is time for her to go. We need a council member who can make good decisions and act in a sensible and legal manner.

She is not representing her collective region, completely ignores some zip codes, does not make herself available and does not communicate with constituents. She is myopic, abrasive and opportunistic. I believe she is unable to see bigger picture when resolving issues, does not value other perspectives and has not proven she works to find compromise.

When the City Councilmember actually led protestors to the mayor’s home, and led protests in front of her house, she crossed a line. The council woman did not personally know those protestors. She didn’t know if any of them held a grudge, or were mentally unstable. She put the life of the mayor at risk. For that alone, she must be held accountable. She needs to go.

I voted for Sawant in her debut election as I supported some of her key issues, including the $15 minimum wage.
However, I voted against her in this past election because I thought she did a terrible job of representing her constituents. We have lived on Capitol Hill for 20 years. We tried reaching out to her multiple times on issues that she should have cared about as our council representative. Nada. Nothing. Her staff are unbelievably rude and incompetent.
To pass a corporate “head tax” in the midst of a pandemic when tends of thousands of people are working at home was literally the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of. We know someone at a senior HR level at Amazon and they expect to pull at least one-third of all employees from SLU by Q3 2021.
We could very lose 100K tech jobs in downtown Seattle which will cripple the city’s recovery as it will impact so many small businesses that rely on those workers.
The council’s over-reaction to demands from protestors — including an attempt to cut the 100 most recently and most diverse class of police officers — was a national embarrassment.
Her entire re-election campaign platform of rent control was built on a lie. She got loads of millennials to vote for her on it even though she knew that has to happen at the state level. She is basically Trump, but on the extreme left — she’s a bully with zero empathy, willfully ignorant, lies to her own supporters and believes no laws apply to her.
I am not some ‘right winger’ who wants her to go. I consider myself a progressive liberal. I have voted blue for 35 years, I was a state delegate for Bernie Sanders in 2016.
