Volunteers will be holding an emergency preparedness drill Sunday to help make sure their Capitol Hill neighbors will be safe during the next big earthquake or disaster.
The North Capitol Hill Emergency Hub will activate Sunday for the drill planned to take place in the Volunteer Park Church parking lot at 13 Ave E and E Aloha:
Participate for an afternoon and learn more as our community prepares for earthquakes and other unanticipated disasters. This in person event is your chance to brush up on your disaster response knowledge & skills as well as connect & interact with fellow community members. Participants will actively role play with the NorthCapHill Emergency Hub personnel and neighbors at the Hub’s multiple emergency support stations in the Volunteer Park Church parking lot.
The practice will include drama!
Scripts will be provided for you to engage as an active participant in the simulation of emergency support scenarios. This event is perfect for anyone interested in being prepared & aligned with your community for unanticipated disaster events, such as an earthquake.
You can register here to participate.
CHS talked with volunteers last summer about the Seattle emergency hub system and how you can help put together new hubs for your neighborhood.
