Groups planning Capitol Hill ‘No Kings 2.0’ rally before meeting up with Saturday’s Seattle Center march

Marchers crossed Capitol Hill during the June No Kings demonstration

This summer, an estimated 70,000 marched from Capitol Hill’s Cal Anderson Park as part of a nationwide “No Kings” protest against the Trump administration. Saturday, thousands are again expected again to march in the city — but this time the gathering spot will be the Seattle Center before the demonstration fills the streets for a march downtown.

A group of organizers are planning a “No Kings 2.0” demonstration on Capitol Hill before meeting up with the downtown crowds.

CHS has reported previously over the years on the spirited, grassroots-organized, and sometimes lightly attended rallies, demonstrations, and marches led by the Capitol Hill Pride group formed long ago around efforts by the long-gone Museum of Mysteries on Broadway to create an alternative queer Pride event in the neighborhood every summer.

Saturday, Capitol Hill Pride is hoping to capture some of the No Kings 2.0 spirit for its planned, rally, “chalk-in,” and march scheduled to step off from Seattle Central in time for the procession to make its way to the Mexican Consulate on Harvard Ave and then to Seattle Center to meet with the larger rally.

Seattle No Kings 2.0 March, Rally & Chalk-In on Broadway
Sat. Oct. 18
Seattle Central College Capitol Hill
10am-4pm
Featuring Speakers, March, Chalk-In and requesting attendees donate two cans of food for the mutual aid table.

Schedule
10am – Chalk all along on Broadway. Help us chalk Seattle and the Nation’s largest chalk signage with the words “Rainbow Pride”, “Love” and “Peace” right on Broadway before the march for the 50501 movement.

11am – Rally – Speakers and performances at Seattle Central College

Speakers to Date:
Charette LeFevre, Philip Lipson – Directors Capitol Hill Pride, Welcome and Safety Announcements
Liv Morgan – Community Activist and Intersex Representative
Ry Armstrong – Co‑Executive Director of Sustainable Seattle and queer/trans leader recognized as a “2024 Outstanding Voice in the LGBTQ+ Community” by the Puget Sound Business Journal
Scott Haddock – American Federation of Teachers

Bontia – 50501 Activists
Josh Binda – Lynnwood City Council VP
CeCe Rose – Seattle Chapter Refuse Fascism

Noon – March to start from Seattle Central College and existing chalk groups on Broadway to Seattle’s Mexican Consulate and then to Seattle Center followed by a car contingent for those who may not be physically able to march. Meeting up with Seattle Center March that starts at 1pm.
We recommend participating vehicles decorate in solidarity with supportive lettering, rainbows, antennas with a small pride flag, using chalk markers on the top and back of vehicles and drive in solidarity behind marchers.

Surely you’re not suggesting the date of a national protest that was chosen more than a month ago was somehow planned around the playoff schedule in one city? Do you think at all before you type and submit this garbage?

Anybody who is to the right of Che Guevara is MAGA to you. That’s why you lose every election and everyone hates you.

LOL…”Everyone hates you”

My little devil child said that to me once. She was like 9 or something at the time. I raised 5 kids on my own. 3 girls and 2 boys. I’ve heard it all pretty much.

“Everyone hates you” is like a 2 rated cutdown. Maybe a 2. You can do better. I’ve seen it here man. Do better. Don’t mail in the hate.

Curious if the route changed. We were hoping to join in around the Mexican consulate, but I don’t think it ended up going down Broadway.
