Mexican food?

I know I’m probably only dreaming, but are there any acceptable mexican places on the Hill?  I tried El Farol on 15th but wasn’t impressed.  I did like Gallerias, but too expensive and the service is awfully slow.  Place above Broadway Market was eh.

The reviews on yelp don’t leave me much hope.  Is there any place to get a good chimi (my gold standard for all mexican joints) nearby??

Rancho Bravo does the job

When we’re doing the family thing, we do El Gallito on 20th near Madison.

My favorite for years has been La Cocina & Cantina (at 432 Broadway E.). I’ve never had a bad meal there and it is reasonably priced. It is much better than La Puerta (upstairs in the Broadway Market). Give it a try.

i second the rancho bravo recommendation, which is located in the space that was formerly kfc. it is oh so yummy, if you eat meat of the pork variety, i highly recommend the spiced pork tacos. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Use to be on 15th and Republican but moved to lower Queen Anne, the best I think and not far from Cap Hill.
