I stopped by Olympia Pizza House on 15th Ave E to check out the new bar that was created when they took over Sonic Boom. It is a very comfortable space and has the amazing bar from Pioneer Square’s departed  J & M Cafe. I went the first time with my boyfriend liked it so much I went back with a group of friends. Not as noisy as Smith’s, kind of the feel of Cheers.  Love the tall windows. Comfortable booths to sit at.

I had the Olympia Special pizza and thought it most excellent. Their Greek salad is a perennial favorite. The bar menu is okay but recommend sticking with the small pizza or the hummus. Have long been a friend of just a plain cheese pizza and I usually ask them to brown the top a little extra as I like my cheese toasted.

I found the TV a little annoying as my friends kept getting sucked into watching it. I was not facing the TV and not sure how I feel about TV’s in general at places like this. The front seating area needs a little work but is comfortable.
