New Iki Tea window opens on E Pike

Some unused space squeezed out of the Capitol Lounge by its neighbors at Ikina Sushi is being put to sweet use.

Saturday marks the grand opening of teeny little Iki Tea. The new walk-up window debuted this summer with a selection of sweet milk teas and smoothies from the Ikina ownership. You might recall the E Pike sushi joint debuted on the block in 2016 — built with late night hot dog cash by entrepreneur Shinsuke Nikaido, the legend goes.

Iki Tea isn’t fancy and, partly because of its young staff, it closes just about the time of night when Pike/Pine goes off. But it’s another example of some of the best, new things around the Hill being squeezed in among the chaotic and busy neighborhood’s nooks and crannies.

Iki Tea is located in the 900 block of E Pike and is open daily from 11 AM to 8 PM. You can learn more here.
