While we were away: 8 interesting items, 2 filler

The hilltoppers had a busy few weeks. Catching up:

  1. The 15th Ave lounge wars flared up — enter Cypress. Seattlest has the pic. We document the history. Will the curse be broken?
  2. Slogger got all slobbery for Liberty’s well-stocked bar. Snotty comments ensue.
  3. Forget the lounge wars. Looks like Seattle has a Fuel war on its hands. What the heck, Pioneer Square — Fuel Sports Bar & Music Venue??? Just because you have a myspace page doesn’t mean you get to keep that name. It’s taken.
  4. Ballard 1, Capitol Hill 0 in metaphysical library tussle
  5. We are now home to the ugliest condo building in Seattle, however.
  6. Non-fancy-pants part of Capitol Hill getting more fancy-pants by the minute. Preview new condo development Brix.
  7. Dan Savage now has opportunity for “symbolic act of defiance.” Congrats to Jamie Pedersen and, heck, Savage too. Have fun casting that vote, Dan.
  8. World’s biggest Fastbacks fan” shares curious 15th Ave coffe shop anecdotes about girls, dominoes
  9. 5 arrested including, gasp, a “mom and housewife” in anti-Bush protests
  10. Guerilla concert in the QFC parking lot? Did this really happen? Sonic Boom, maybe now you can bring your in-store love back to Capitol Hill.

The guerilla concert did and didn’t happen. The concert was exactly one song long, due to (we hear) the balcony owner’s concerns about neighbor complaints.
