We stopped at Rainbow last night to acquire some much needed avocados and salad fixings. And organic bananas, too. Happy to report that we witnessed fully stocked shelves and a rich offering of produce. It was regular land o’ plenty in there! It appears that, once again, we’ve all been suckered by Rainbow’s inventory management system. We won’t be fooled again.

Weird. My wife went in there today and said the place is half empty, lots of bare shelves.
Yeah, I just heard same thing from somebody else. It seems we all have our own private version of Rainbow and what it is supposed to be. Judging by time in neighborhood, however, our version of Rainbow has much lower expectations attached to it than everybody else’s.
So, the place has stuff. But less stuff than (most?) people think it normally has. Mystery continues and the headline on this post is now thrown into question. Drama.
Next time you are in Rainbow, buy Peace Oil on the olive oil shelf. Other things may be in low supply, but I bottle this Palestinian olive oil right here on Capitol Hill and keep the stock current. It is a joint project of Israelis and Palestinians working cooperatively. See http://www.peaceoil.biz for more info. Also in good supply at Madison Market. Or come by my house and buy!
