We note today a paper sign in the Olympia Pizza window. The paper sign advertises a Valentine’s Day dinner event at Olympia this Wednesday night. The event, the sign says, includes serenades by a singer named Chris.

Now, we’re sure Olympia is totally sincere about making your night great but how secure in your relationship do you need to be to take your honey out for pizza on the big V-day? Very secure, we think. So, this event, we say, is only for the most secure relationships. Forget the fancy pants action over at the Volunteer Park Cafe. Forget cooking something red-meaty and delicious at home. Go out for pizza. Enjoy the vocal stylings of Chris. Show the world you don’t need anything but mozzarella and delicious toppings to mark your love.

Us? We’ll be cooking at home. Guess we still have something to prove.
