We recently took a chance and broke out of our Pagliacci pizza rut to order from the local guy – Palermo Gourmet Pizza & Pasta on 15th at Thomas. Turns out we were missing out on some quality pizza. We loved the Pizza di Salsiccia (Italian sausage, mushrooms, roasted red peppers and onions) and were well rewarded for adventurous ordering with the Baked Cauliflower. When they say “topped with Parmesan cheese” they meant “covered with delicious Parmesan cheese sauce”. Maybe we didn’t pick the healthiest thing on the menu, but no regrets here. Palermo’s pizza philosophy is to do a basic pizza really well – medium crust, quality toppings, a good but not unreasonable amount of gooey cheese. We’re sold. Also, it came in maybe 25 minutes. Crazy fast! You can also eat at the restaurant, but I can’t imagine you get your food any faster.

You have to try the Quatro Formaggio – best all-cheese pie in town!
