Fire department responds to flaming port-o-potty

Neighbor A. reports on some pyromaniacal activity in the ‘hood last night:

Here’s a scoop for you, fire department at my building (corner of 20th & Mercer) to put out a port-a-potty that was set ablaze. Also caught the siding on fire, luckily near a stairwell and not someone’s unit. They showed up around 1:15 am… still here. I didn’t ask the fireman much more, but he asked if I knew of other problems with fire setting (none that I know of).

Thanks for the tip, A. Neighbors, lock your potties — without eternal vigilance, the portable toilet burners will win.

Round here unlocked port-a-potties are also used as drop-in brothels and/or drug dealing locales.

At least we assume that’s why couples (or 3-somes) go in there…..

And they get quite irate if you do arrange for the port-a-potties to be locked.

They’re also really good to pee in on late-night walks. Locked potties are a sign of a failed civilization. We must catch and imprison the burners! Perhaps an American Peetriot Act, increased surveillance, enhanced interrogation… A war on pottieburnerism!
