Shannon Harps murder links round-up

A few items of interest this morning.

  • Another opportunity to talk and learn — Home Alive and self-defense tips
  • Seattle Crime Blog asks Was Shannon Harp’s murder a random attack?
  • Central District News monitors the police scanner. From yesterday’s report: “All Day – Multiple reported sightings of the 15th & Howell killer, all over the east precinct. I think every scruffy-looking homeless man with blue or yellow clothing is generating calls.”
As much as we hope the police finally find the person responsible, have to say we feel sorry for the homeless people and the freaks on the Hill who have to deal with this increased scrutiny. Be kind, neighbors.
  • Seattlest names a tragedy — 15th & Howell — at least, we think that’s what they’re doing as the article title and picture were posted without commentary. We’ll stick with the Shannon Harps murder — sad to have her name forever associated with that horrible word but, better, we think, than having her name disappear altogether.
