A little easier to get to Volunteer Park on wheels

We missed some cool news that came in via the CHS flickr pool last week — construction of a curb ramp to access Volunteer Park at 15th and Highland. All neighbors traveling by wheel salute you, curb constructors. Just try pushing a stroller while juggling your cell phone and a latte without curb cuts. Impossible. Now, all we need our pedestrian bridges over 15th and everything will be good. Or, since the mayor seems to prefer the things, maybe we can turn that section of 15th into a tunnel. Whatever works.

Much thanks to roag for posting to the pool. Got a shot to add?

“Just try pushing a stroller while juggling your cell phone and a latte without curb cuts.”

This is what stroller cup-holders are for, silly.

Boy, I would love to see more of those ramps around here.

It is interesting that they were doing some sort of drilling inside the park near this entrance in the last week or so. Maybe they needed the ramp for the trucks (or perhaps they destroyed the curb during their work).

But “someone” should investigate why it took them like 3 months to repave that one section of road inside the Galer entrance to Volunteer Park. Those guys never seemed to be working.
