Seattlest is a very sensible placeblog and, after a Saturday like we had this Saturday, they’re asking a very sensible question — What did you do on Saturday?
When a 72-degree day is immediately followed by a return to drippy bleakness, we should definitely strive to create some instant nostalgia. We ate Top Pot donuts and then played in Volunteer Park with our friends from Alaska. We remember it like it was Saturday. So, we’ll embrace and extend Seattlest’s query. What did you do on Saturday on Capitol Hill?

Biked to the highest point in Seattle, got sunburned, and had a fancy pants tea beverage in Ballard to cool down. Pretty much the best day ever.
72? I heard 79!
Burke-Gilman; drink on the Fremont Canal; sunburn.
Awesome.
Oh, and I realize Fremont’s not Capitol Hill, but we started here on our bikes . . .
We watched toddlers demonstrate ballet, then went for breakfast at the Essential. Then we went to see the cherry blossom at UW, and ventured up to CAPITOL HILL to play in the Japanese Garden. Then we drove to Ballard for fish and chips overlooking the Sound. Then we painted our garden chairs and then visited friends in Sand Point and had dinner with said friends at Volterra.
How kind of you to ask.
(Yes, we need to buy trees to offset our carbon footprint).
