Introducing Seattle Gay Scene

We don’t have a gay channel on CHS — we’re organized around geography. Besides, we wouldn’t want to try to compete with Bill W.’s creation which is undergoing a makeover just in time for Pride. Gay Seattle Blogspot is now SeattleGayScene.com. Bill W. says the transition is till in process and is all about design and brand. The site mission remains the same — as Bill W. puts it, delivering “the real meat of everything that’s happening.” With all the buzz around Pride Week, consider the new unveiling your online component.

Thanks for including a link to SGS – most timely.

I chatted with Bill briefly last night at Out & Equal Seattle’s Pride Happy Hour. He’s a bonnie chap with a reserved demeanor but a very intense gaze. (Full disclosure: I’m on the board of Out & Equal’s Seattle Affiliate)

For those who don’t know, Out & Equal Workplace Advocates is a national organization dedicated to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in the workplace. They help educate all levels of organizations with programs and services that result in equal policies, opportunities, practices, and benefits in the workplace regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, expression, or characteristics.

There is an Out & Equal Affiliate in Seattle that has representatives from Alaska Airlines, Amazon.com, Amgen, AT&T, Bank of America, Deloitte, Macy’s, Microsoft, Russell Investments, Safeco Insurance, Starbucks Coffee and Xerox just to name just a few. No organization is too large or too small to join and learn from each other.

If your company has an LGBT employee resource group or you’re trying to start one at your organization, get in touch with the Out & Equal Seattle Affiliate http://outandequalseattle.blogspot.com/).
