We wandered across Capitol Hill tonight to check out what was going on around the ‘hoods on the big Night Out. Here’s some of the stuff we saw. Have your own pictures of the night? Add them to the CHS flickr pool and with the tag capitolhillnightout and let us know about your street’s party in the comments.
We were too early over in southern Hilltop at 16th and Olive but we did capture their extremely modest road closure — looked like they taped off about 25 yards. Such thoughtful block partying neighbors — didn’t want to impede traffic flow. We’re sure Jeanine will fill us in on the details.
As neighbor Arboreality pointed out — down the Hill in I-5 Shores, the block party at Olive and Bellevue was rocking with a band and free burgers and all sorts of goodies. We even met a very friendly police officer as he finished off his burger. (Though, sounds like not everybody is enjoying the tune-age.)
Meanwhile, back on top of the Hill, the neighbors of Republican at 15th Ave E. were also grilling. We passed on the hot dog but thanks for the offer, guys.
UPDATE
Adding pictures as they come in. Looks like these neighbors started a riot and the water cannons had to come out. Take that you meddling children!
