Police scanner: Election Day incidents

If, like me, you were wondering if people were, um, more civic minded on election day, yesterday’s Capitol Hill police scanner items don’t necessarily make a great case. No word on number of arrests made in the area last night with all the fun and frolic. I’ll update once I get a chance to talk to somebody from SPD about it unless some other news outlet (get on it Jonah Spangenthal Lee) gets to it first..

11:50AM 15th E & E. Thomas Disturbance A driver was involved in a hit & run about 30 minutes ago on Broadway, and he tracked down the other vehicle to this location where he’s now in an argument with its driver. The suspect vehicle is a Charlie’s Produce truck

12:28PM 505 E. Harrison Narcotics Activity Report of two men shooting up in the alley. One white male and one hispanic male.

1:30PM 1410 E. John Disturbance A female is harassing customers outside Safeway. Native American female, 40s.

2:06PM 1500 17th Ave E Alarm Multiple trips inside a house

2:07PM 1658 E. Olive Way Shoplifting Two men stole items from a tobacco shop and left in opposite directions. Two hispanic males

3:05PM 500 11th Ave E Trespassing A squatter has set up home in an abandoned property that has a bio-hazard warning in the police system. White female.

4:30PM 10th & E. Thomas Burglary A resident interrupted a burglar. Suspect is a white hispanic male, 20s, black hair, green shirt. Caller is following him, now at Broadway & E. Harrison. CHS coverage from mattw here.

5:07PM 400 18th Ave E Welfare Check Caller reports a man wandering around, apparently disoriented, and unable to speak. White male, 20s, balding.
