I’m hoping for a few things in 09
o My 1-year-old and I have explored most of the Hill so resolving to take more trips off-Hill in the new year. Zoo here we come.
o Really looking forward to watching CHS grow. I hope it becomes a stable business (buy ads!) in 2009 so I can keep doing this for a living.
o I’m going to do that Capitol Hill census I’ve been talking about for ages. Finally.
o Help other contributors do more on the site.
o Collaborate on more videos with Cheesecake.
o More CHS offline stuff. Maybe in conjunction with the community council. Maybe on its own.
o Paint more.
o Continue to work in coffee shops nearly every day.
o Read a book again.
o Be nice to my sweetie wife.

Take my reusable grocery bags every time I go to the grocery
Stop thinking that the world revolves around Seattle and NPR
Walk to work one day per week
No more talk about moving back to Laurelhurst
Embrace the unique Flora and Fauna of Capitol Hill

~Overnight hiking trips with my new (now stable) knees.
~Less time on the Internet. I tend to turn my nose up a bit at folks who watch 5+ hours of television a day, but how is that any different than how long I spend surfing the net every day?
~Continue building confidence with baking. Real bread still challenges me.
~Finish Time Magazine’s Top 100 Novels Of All Time list. Almost halfway there.
~Decide if we are buying a house or using the saved money for 2 years of travel instead.

…and say that I’m planning to exercise more this year. But I like Wesa’s suggestion of spending less time online. I think it’s far more interactive and life-enhancing than TV, but still… I should do less of it.

I agree that it’s more interactive than television. My husband and I will run across fascinating studies, news reports, or just dumb Fail Blog videos and talk about them for hours…but it turns into a default setting some nights.

— Spend less time with distractions (yes, internet that includes you!) during my work day so that it doesn’t drag on into the evening, so that I can:
— Spend more time on my artwork (painting), exercising body (just joined Gold’s Gym) and spirit (attending the spiritual program of my choice).
