Here is our weekly examination of Capitol Hill’s criminal and police activity in our section of the East Precinct. Many of the items come from Central District News’ daily police scanner reports. Starting this week, I will also include items I’ve found digging through the investigation reports collected from East Precinct HQ. I will try to select items of importance and interest and occasionally include some of the report verbatims as I have done below with a redacted section from the write-up on the Howell air rifle incident. When i include reports, I will make sure victim names and information as well as suspect names are fully redacted as sometimes the standard redaction blacklines in the public reports doesn’t fully obscure the information. In the case of the Howell airgun incident, we have already revealed the name of the suspect so I’ve left the SPD’s standard redaction marks in place.
