Perhaps establishing ‘shocking blue’ as the official shade of Capitol Hill, we find this note on Broadway Grill’s new paint job:
Not the first Cap Hill establishment to shock us with their color choice. Surely not the last.

I love blue. Most of the world loves blue. It’s the most common corporate identity color. But this blue does not work on this building. It does not go with the art and sign band. It does not say or complement food. It does not fit with or complement its neighboring buildings. It is too bright. If they plan to redo the entire interior, menu, chairs, and take on a whole new look, maybe this is just a start. Maybe this is only a primer for a darker color. We can hope.
For now, if this is the final blue, the owner’s might be blue in the face. Thumbs down, down, down.
On the other hand it does complement the outrageously large Chase sign across the street. Did Chase pay for the new paint job?
…do you think they’ll retool their blah menu as well?
