Beaujolais the Australian shepherd mix is lost on Capitol Hill and a woman who says she can talk with animals is helping to track him down. Bridget Pilloud sent the following note to CHS this morning:
We could use the help of folks in your neighborhood. [My client] recently lost her dog in Capitol Hill. She was visiting a client and her dog, Beaujolais, ran off. Beaujolais is a young aussie mix that’s very shy. [My client] adopted him only a few weeks ago, and he’s been at large for nearly a week.
I’ve been in contact with him for the past few days, and it seems that he’s hanging out by a shady park. [My client] has put up many signs, and is in contact with animal control. Beaujolais is micro-chipped.
Before [my client] adopted him, he had been the victim of a hoarder, and had been brutally attacked by other dogs. She is quite worried and wants him to come home.
Could you post something on your site? If anybody sees him, [my client] would love a phone call so that she can track him and hopefully bring him home.
Pilloud runs Pets Are Talking and specializes in ‘intuitive animal communication.’ If you’ve seen Beaujolais, send CHS a mail and we’ll pass it on.

Pilloud says “I’ve been in contact with him (telepathically, we presume) for the past few days and it seems he’s hanging out by a shady park”
LMAO!!!! That’s f-ing hilarious! What a crock!
It doesn’t take much intuition to figure that a dog might be hanging out in the shade on the warm sunny days we’ve had of late.
I’m sorry for the lady who is the dog’s owner, and I’m sure she’ll take any help she can get to find it. But Puh-leaze!
I think a little less credulity would be in order, here. Let’s find the dog, sure, but let’s not advertise for scam artists if at all possible…
I don’t know, if we lose faith in intuitive animal communication, what is there left to believe in?
From her website FAQ:
Do you have to be in the same room with my pet?
No. I have talked with animals across town, across the country and across the ocean.
Will my pet tell you my secrets?
They will tell me what matters to them. They will tell me what makes them happy. They will tell me what they need. I’ve never had a pet share anything about bedroom activities or bodily functions.
I am the person who lost Beaujolais, and I would very much like to thank the people who have phoned me with sightings over the past 12 days.
Beaujolais has had only very limited positive experience with people. As Bridget mentioned, he was siezed by Oregon Animal Control just a few weeks ago, where he lived with 28 other dogs in horrific conditions, kept by a mentally ill woman who was hoarding dogs. After spending a little time in a pound, Beaujolais lived in a very nice foster home for 3 weeks, and then was adopted by me. He was only with me for 2 weeks when he escaped.
Again, he is very, very frightened, and is not willing to approach anyone so far. If you do see him, if you could phone me, and possibly even put food out for him, I would be very grateful. My hope is that he will stay in the same area, so that I can find him, or that he will decide to trust someone enough to go up to them, or allow himself to be caught.
He is microchipped, and also has a collar with tags. My phone number is 425-486-4661.
Thank you all so VERY, VERY much for all your help, and all your well wishes for Beaujolais’ safe return! Capitol Hill is a wonderful place!

Beaujolais was seen by a woman walking through the Arboretum at 6:30 AM this morning, and then seen by a gardener at the park at 9:00 AM. Thank you all for looking out for him, and reporting your sightings. I’m very hopeful that I will be able to get him back soon!

Several years ago —
Driving from Beacon Hill, my house, and noticed a skinny very sick/sad looking old male pit bull standing on the sidewalk where you turn to come on to the 12th street bridge.
He and I held eye contact for several minutes during a light change – I was really engrossed in how bad he looked and wished I could do something.
Came to work. At the end of the day, went home and the pit bull that had been at the intersection was sleeping on my porch. My little house is 20 blocks from where I sighted him. This totally a true story. Amazing.
I fed him and petted him and treated him like an old friend … dog dish full of good nourishing stuff and a bath, with a big comfy bed on the porch and tons of conversation. He remained sad and depressed acting, relished the food, and slept a lot. He was scarred all over his head and body, seemingly a fighter at some point, big frame for a pit, great red color.
He stayed a week, I thought he would stay forever. How did he know to come to my home? I do not own a dog at the moment, but, love dogs and have had many fine relationships over the years.
Swear, a true story.
Hey, I’m Bridget Pilloud, the intuitive animal communicator. I’m just trying to help Lorence find her dog. I’m doing this work pro bono, because this dog has been through a lot. I didn’t expect and don’t need to have any information about what I do on this website.
You can say whatever you’d like about the work that I do. That doesn’t really matter to me. I’d rather you spend that time helping Lorence find Beaujolais.
I found him!!! Thank you all so very, very much for all your help and support over the past few weeks! Beau is in surpisingly good condition, but is very happy to be home after his big adventure!
With much love to all,
Lorence
I’m so happy to read this! I’d been looking for him every time I was in the Arboretum. Yeah for Bridget and her hard work! And yeah for your persistence in finding your dog.
Beaujolais deserves a long night of sleep in his own bed tonight.
Congrats.
so glad to hear you found beau!!
I am very happy to hear that you have found your pet. To show that you respect the neighborhood that you and your dog call home, I would ask that you please take down all of the signs around the neighborhood. Hopefully your signs were helpful, I certainly paid attention and was looking out for your dog, however they are just potential litter now. Thank you in advance for being responsible, and again I am glad your dog is home safe.
Your signs are all over the freakin neighborhood, even the Montlake neighborhood. Take them all down or I think you should be fined for each piece of litter left!
