Interstate 5 is closed in both directions near Northgate in Seattle following reports of gunfire near North 92nd Street sometime before 10 p.m.

Seattle police converged on the area and ordered residents outside to return to their homes.

Focusing on a wooded area near North Seattle Community College, police pursued one suspect, who is now in police custody, according to transmissions on police radio channels.

A second possible suspect was seen earlier running across the freeway, and police appear close to taking him into custody.

The freeway is closed between Lake City Way and 145th Street, according to The State Patrol.

Meanwhile, it’s another violent night in the city with a shooting also being reported in West Seattle. A man was shot and killed Thursday in the Mt. Baker neighborhood.

Thanks. Tough night for traffic, too. Bus wires down at Pine/10th with City Light working the problem and blocking lanes.
