Latest election update: R-71 APPROVED!, McGinn maintains slim lead

Various news sources are calling the R-71 race over — here’s what Publicola had to say about the victory. Congratulations to everybody on the Hill who worked so hard on the campaign.

King County’s down to an estimated 13,800 votes on hand to count:

Suppose they’re half in Seattle; Mallahan would have to get ~ 54% of those to draw ahead.

Picture changes if there are lots more ballots still in the mail.

Note that the difference between them is ~ 1/2 of the number of write-in ballots. Those people (Nickels supporters?) had the decision in their hands and they blew it!
