Here’s some of the news we didn’t get to this week. Thanks for the help, big(ger) media!
- Stranger sez Capitol Hill is getting an I Love New York deli but the owner isn’t sure if it will be on Pike or Pine. We reported earlier that the space near soon-to-be Lobby Bar was slated to be a deli but the Money Tree grabbed the lease. Maybe plans changed? We’re fine with The Honeyhole, btw.
- Seattle Times sez Sound Transit officials are watching the situation closely in Bothell where an expensive tunnel boring machine has ground to a halt. The machine has been stuck since spring in a tunnel it was boring as part of a massive waste treatment project. Sound Transit’s University Link light rail project will be require not one but two tunnels passing through Capitol Hill.
- Seattle Weekly sez B&O Espresso is staying put at Olive Way and Belmont. They talked to developer John Stoner who said an agreement is in place for B&O to continue doing business at the location until demolition begins in 2011. After a year of construction, Stoner said B&O will be part of the new mixed-use development. Now neighbors better start planning where you’ll get your coffee during the construction phase.
I’m glad that they’ll be staying in their space. Ironic if they had taken the Bailey Coy space, putting them next door to where they used to be.
I love that place, I’ve been loving their food and coffee since 1992. (Is that even possible? I’m not sure when they opened.)
