Tell East Precinct cops what’s on your mind, meet City Attorney Holmes

Here’s a reminder about your opportunity to ‘get a few bike cops to patrol the streets between denny/olive and pike/pine/broadway‘ and let East Precinct commander Jim Dermody know about any problems in your part of the Hill. You’ll also have a chance to hear from newly elected City Attorney Peter Holmes and hit him with a few Capitol Hill-focused questions.

I for one am very pleased at the response from the East Precinct. I sent a letter in about a week and a half ago about the current state of affairs on my little stretch of Madison on First Hill. The amount of drug related activity really seemed to be spiking so I sent them a letter expressing my concerns.

Several days later Officer Casey Sundin from the Community Police Team and his lieutenant Sean O’Donnell stopped by my store to talk to me. They listened and agreed that an increased visibility on their part might be in order. And it has made a difference already.

Thanks to them for listening and responding. Sometimes I feel like First Hill is Capital Hill’s poor relation so it was nice to be treated like a valued member of the family!
