According to the CHS Events Calendar, Tuesday is a very, very busy day so we’re giving you a head-start. (Luckily, we scheduled our February CHS happy hour for Wednesday night, not Tuesday.)
Why so many important meetings ended up scheduled on the same night is a coincidence of bureaucracy. We’ll have to band together to make sure the Hill is represented and informed. If you make time to attend any of these, let us know what you see and hear — [email protected]
Your itinerary includes:
- Free pancakes for a cause. We’re not usually suckers for the free food gimmicks but IHOP suddenly has cultural significance given the die-off of big chain restaurants on the Hill. And, yeah, there’s the good cause thing too so drop a buck in the can.
- A meeting to discuss plans to acquire land for another new Capitol Hill park.
- A meeting to discuss the “transit oriented development” process for the Broadway light rail station.
- A meeting to discuss changes to the city’s design guidelines. Andrew, btw, says this one matters, for what it’s worth.
- A(nother!) meeting to discuss the environmental impact of the planned 520 replacement.

Good. maybe I like the taste of food sans-corn syrup once in a while. if I wanted TGIFridays, I could move out to the suburbs.
(I know it was a joke… but fussy eaters drive me bananas.)
I don’t know from chain restaurants, but the IHOP hasn’t been the same since they put that drop ceiling in.
