A 911 call reporting a man acting suspiciously near University and E. Union led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of at least one person following a brief foot chase just before 8 Friday night.
According to police radio transmissions, a purple 2008 Honda Fit was recovered at the scene. The responding officers reported to dispatch that the owner should be notified but the car would not be immediately ready for pick-up because it was “full of a lot of things.”
Medics were also dispatched to the scene after one man was taken into custody following a 1-block foot chase. According to the radio reports, the 45 to 50 year-old man complained of a sore back after being apprehended by the officer. The officer also said the man was possibly under the influence of narcotics.
