NARAL Washington is organizing a candle-light vigil Wednesday night in Cal Anderson Park to mark the one year anniversary of the murder of Dr. George Tiller. From the Seattle PI’s Joel Connelly:

Tiller, a provider of late-term abortions, was vilified for years, notably by Fox News pundit Bill O’Reilly. The physician was shot by an anti-abortion extremist in the Lutheran church where he served as an usher and where his wife sang in the choir.

Tiller’s killer was convicted of first-degree murder and sent to prison for life. O’Reilly washed his hands of any responsibility for creating a political atmosphere conducive to the crime.

A candle-light vigil and moment of silence will be held in remembrance of his life and work. We will be congregating in the grassy area between the softball field and the playground.
