Seattle AIDS Walk and Run, Komen 3-Day for the Cure to fill Capitol Hill streets and parks

The streets of Capitol Hill will be busy this weekend with walkers, runners and everything in between as two benefit events bring their good causes to Volunteer Park and Cal Anderson.

On Saturday, some 3,000 participants will help Lifelong AIDS Alliance and sponsor Moms Pharmacy shoot for this year’s $500,000 goal. We profiled preparations for the 2010 AIDS Walk  here.

There’s still time to register, by the way, if you’d like to be one of the thousands to gather in Volunteer Park Saturday morning before hitting the street for a walk or run around Capitol Hill.

Expect delays and closures along the route and some delays around the area if you’re driving on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Sunday will also bring crowds of people to Capitol Hill streets as the 2010 Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure event again finishes *has its final cheering section* at Cal Anderson Park. Expect participants to proceed to the finish at Cal Anderson between 10:45 AM and 1:30 PM.

  1. The end of the 3 day walk is actually at the Seattle Center. Cal Anderson is the final cheering station. I know because my wife is walking the event.
