CHS Pics: Vegan trash monster, goodbye to the Albatross and Cal Anderson’s crashed rocket

Neighbor @Quazie shares this picture of an interesting new skin on one of our friendly neighborhood trash receptacles. As if sorting compostables and recyclables isn’t enough, now there’s a can for vegan trash.

Elsewhere in Capitol Hill shutterbuggery, photographer liquidnight shares this image in the CHS flickr pool of the play balls that have been part of the Albatross installation in the MadArt in the Park project in Cal Anderson for the past few weeks. We’re amazed those balls survived. They made for good ball racing in the Cal Anderson fountain. The MadArt installations were slated to be in the park through Sunday but we saw a confusing note on Twitter from the organizers on Saturday that said ‘today’ was the last day to see the works. Stop by Sunday and you’ll probably get to see the artists packing up, if nothing else.
