Dig it: Summit John p-patch soil-moving work ‘parties’ need you

Want to help dig some Capitol Hill dirt? No, we’re not looking for more CHS contributors (ha ha! ha. ha… ha?) The folks working to organize the new p-patch at the Summit at John park are holding a work party this weekend to move truckloads of fresh, clean dirt into the not-yet-green space’s planting beds. There will be free warm beverages and new neighbors to meet. Also, note, the street behind the fancy new Olive Way Starbucks will be closed for two days while the dirt gets distributed. Details on the work parties below.

Also in green space news, community members working to plan the park at Federal and Republican have been meeting to discuss potential interim uses for the space during the long Seattle Parks design process. Hello Neighbors,

We have two Soil-Moving Work Parties coming up.  Come join the gardening fun, and help fill the John & Summit P-Patch with soil!
When: Friday November 19th, 11AM (Rain, snow or shine . . . we’re working!)
Where: John & Summit P-Patch Garden
What: Moving soil into garden beds, tilling, and some weeding
When: Saturday November 20th, 9AM (Rain, snow or shine . . . we’re working!)

We have plenty of tools to go around, but please bring work gloves, shovels, 5-gallon buckets and wheelbarrows if you have them.    
We really need your help!  Come and bring your friends, too!  We’ll be moving soil in rain, snow or shine.
Delicious coffee and treats are being provided!  
Please RSVP to Barbara at [email protected] so we know how many to expect, and if you’re bringing tools.  
(Even if you forget to RSVP. . . come and garden with us!)
