We don’t know who won all those coloring contests of our childhood but, man, we sure liked having our shot at being the best color-inside-the-lines artist on the block. Expectations run higher for children these days. The Kaladi Brothers Coffee chain recently held a contest that required kids to create a design for a coffee mug. That’s skill. New CHS advertiser Northwest School’s PR department hooked us up with info about their grand champion designer who not only will see her work on Kaladi coffee traveler tumblers but has won her teachers a free day of coffee. Excellent work, Amy.
Northwest School 8th Grader, Amy Pelz, was named the winner of Kaladi Brothers Coffee’s ART Throw Down competition, a community contest in which school-age children from Washington and Alaska submitted design entries for a limited-edition cup to be produced by Kaladi.
The competition — which yielded 89 entries — was held through Facebook, and Amy was the winner of the Middle School division, with her design receiving the most “Likes.” Amy’s design will be featured on 500 coffee traveler tumblers, and she will receive a Kaladi gift card. Additionally, The Northwest School will receive one free day of coffee (details pending)!
This has inspired us. Here’s a CHS coloring contest. Winner gets a future CHS post all about their creation. And the artist, of course. Please stay inside the lines.

The lines are your friends. Oh @#$# the lines kids! Go Crazy! It’s Capitol Hill, no one can tell you what kind of artist you can be!
