TechFlash: Capitol Hill home energy start-up scores new exec, raises cash

Good news for the Capitol Hill start-up community to start 2011. 12th Ave Home energy start-up EnergySavvy scored a new leader and raised a big chunk of cash in a round of financing, TechFlash reports:

EnergySavvy has raised $1.1 million in financing and named former Redfin executive Rob McGarty to a new position in which he’ll oversee the deployments of the energy efficiency tool in corporate environments.

McGarty was the first real estate agent at Redfin, a company he joined in January 2006. He most recently served as director of lender programs.

We reported on the company’s move to Capitol Hill from South Lake Union in September. EnergySavvy designs services to aid homeowners in making their houses more energy efficient. Its home in the Coho Building includes a growing roster of entrepreneurs and start-ups.
