CHS Pics: Cartoonist unveils his 7-foot ink pen at Gage Academy

The only thing we hate worse than missing coverage of an *interesting* event on Capitol Hill is then having to eat crow and cover it afterward. But this isn’t about CHS. It’s about Seattle cartoonist Jim Woodring, his dream of creating a working, 7-foot-long ink pen and using that $4,500 pen to create his art. Here is a look at Sunday’s unveiling of Nibbus Maximus at Capitol Hill’s Gage Academy of Art on 10th Ave East. Like we said, we weren’t there, so no word on when Woodring might put his mighty pen to use again. Were you? Video from the peculiar event, below.

  1. You missed a SHOW. Woodring took the pen through its paces, drawing lines like nobody’s beeswax, and I got a commemorative t-shirt.
