Partner of First Hill Polyclinic doctor stabbed to death in West Seattle home — UPDATE

There’s a First Hill connection to the story surrounding the murder of a West Seattle man with a colorful past as a Vaudeville performer and musical entertainer. According to King County records, the home where 60-year-old Robert Stabile — who went by the name Hokum W. Jeebs — was stabbed to death is owned by Polyclinic First Hill physician Dr. Anita Shaffer, Jeebs’s partner according to the Seattle Times which also provides background on his history as a performer:

Jeebs, a street performer in San Francisco in the 1970s, also worked for a time as a performer at Disney World in Orlando and Disneyland in Tokyo, according to McKechnie and Jeebs’ online biography on the Puget Sound Theater Organ Society’s website. He moved to Seattle in the early 1990s and co-founded Hokum Hall, now known as Kenyon Hall.

Seattle Police announced the arrest of an adult male suspect in the homicide on Wednesday. The West Seattle Blog is reporting on the suspect’s bail hearing Thursday afternoon after which more details from the SPD investigation of the case will be available.

Hey, I love your website, and there’s not much to be done about this, but I was confused by the use of “partner” in this article. Initially, I thought that HWJ was a physician that worked with Dr. Shaffer. I had to read the article a couple of times until I realized that it was a domestic partnership. Thanks. I think I need more sun.
