A man found trying to break into the window of a 10th Ave East home was caught in the act and “taken to the ground” by a man who also found time to call 911 during the attempted break-in early Saturday morning.

According to police radio, a caller told the 911 dispatcher that a man was attempting to break in through a window of the home in the 600 block of 10th Ave East just after 2 AM Saturday morning. The caller decided to take matters into his own hands and wrestle the highly intoxicated man to the ground as SPD officers arrived to take the man into custody.

Medics were called to the scene to treat an apparently intoxicated 25-year-old male with a “reduced level of consciousness.”
