Friends stepping in to help clean up Edgar the Store situation

Following Tuesday’s report about missing consignments and problems with the shop’s landlord, we didn’t hear back from Edgar Lee about what was going on with the shutdown of Edgar the Store. But we did hear from a friend who says Lee’s social circle is having to step in to help as the closure of his business has become too much to handle.

“He’s not trying to sell it. He’s not trying to keep it,” the friend tells us. “He’s just not able to deal with it.” The friend we talked with provided his name and contact information to us but asked to not be identified in this post. But he did provide us with enough information about the situation that we are satisfied that there is a good effort underway to set this situation straight.

CHS has agreed to collect names and contact information for people who have consignments they want returned. Please send e-mail to [email protected] or (206) 399-5959. No information provided will be used in our reporting. The person we spoke with said arrangements will be made on an individual basis to go to where the items are being safely kept so they can be returned.

The friend tells us that Tuesday’s CHS post convinced Lee’s supporters that they need to do more to help him through this situation. He said they had already stepped in to help pack up the store. “We’re all having problems getting in contact with him,” the friend said. “He needs our help right now.”
